College of Education
Here are a few points of information about the College of Education:
- We anchor the largest teacher education program in Iowa.
- We offer the most sought-after major, elementary education, and some of the most-chosen minors at UNI (social and emotional learning, literacy education, special education)
- We go beyond the classroom, with the recreation, tourism and nonprofit leadership degree that extends education to the outdoors and the community
- We are comprehensive, with the only active doctoral program at UNI.
Overall, we are five departments, four centers of excellence, and nearly 200 faculty and staff. Together, we have one goal that drives us every day: your success.
Dean's Fund for Excellence
When you support the College of Education Dean’s Fund for Excellence you're supporting crucial student and faculty needs.
Your gift ensures that the college has the flexibility to address student and faculty needs right away. This includes scholarships and need-based aid that many of our students rely on. But the investment doesn’t stop there.
As we look to the future, enhancing the student experience remains paramount. We recently remodeled what’s now called the College of Education Advising & Teacher Education Success Office. Here we’ve created a “one-stop” office supporting both College of Education and campus-wide teacher education students to better assist them on their student journeys. Donor support helped make this happen.
You’ll support faculty. We are increasingly competing with other colleges that can offer incentives to high-quality faculty members. We want to bring those faculty to UNI to support our students and the communities they serve.
You’ll strengthen the College of Education for the future. We aim to support student success by innovating our curriculum, increasing recruitment and retention, and strengthening our partnerships. Your gift provides our leadership team with critical extra support to attain these goals.
For all of these reasons and more, I hope you will make a gift of any size on #LivePurpleGiveGold!
