Cecelians

The University of Northern Iowa Cecilians, formerly the Women's Chorus, is a premiere ensemble with a 130-year heritage dedicated to artistry, friendship and inclusivity. Founded in 1888 by Julia Curtiss, we are the oldest ensemble on campus and a cornerstone of UNI's choral program.

Our ensemble, open to all majors without auditions, fosters a community of strong treble singers who embrace our legacy while pursuing innovative programming and international tours every two years. This May, we are heading to Italy, and we seek your support to cover essential expenses like transportation, lodging and meals, ensuring a transformative experience for our members and representing UNI with pride on the global stage.
