About AFP Lead
The Nonprofit Leadership Alliance is a nation-wide alliance of colleges and nonprofit organizations that trains and certifies students to lead nonprofit organizations. UNI’s Nonprofit Leadership Alliance program began in 1988 and has certified over 400 Certified Nonprofit Professionals (CNPs)! As part of their experience in NLA, students attend various professional development activities. One of these includes attending a national conference. In 2022 we are planning on taking 15 students to Houston, Texas to attend the Association for Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Lead conference.
AFP Lead is a three-day conference where students, faculty, and the nonprofit sector gather to discuss best practices, current trends, and major issues in the nonprofit sector. Students have the chance of networking with fellow students and nonprofit executives interviewing for possible jobs, internships, and volunteer opportunities.
This opportunity will allow students to network with professionals in the field and gain hands-on experience.
Why Support?
With your willingness to support the UNI Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, we will be able to take 15 students to the AFP Lead Conference in Houston, Texas, this October as well as to other professional development opportunities. This conference is one of the four main components of earning the Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) credential at UNI. By supporting students in the UNI Nonprofit Leadership Alliance program, you are helping to support the future of the nonprofit sector.
Help build up future nonprofit leaders by supporting the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance student association’s goal of raising $10,000. These funds will be used for student professional development including attending AFP Lead in Houston, Texas in Oct 2022. By contributing to our goal, you will help students have the opportunity to experience a professional conference, grow their leadership skills, and have the opportunity to apply their knowledge to real world problems.
Your donation will support not only future nonprofit leaders but the communities they will positively impact through their philanthropy.
